Lists, Notes, Reminders: Helping Your Oral Health

Updated: Apr 8, 2020

Sometimes, what you need for your oral health (when you find that you’re just not keeping up with each and every final detail) is some support! You need to be able to remember to follow through on your home care, on picking up the items you need to keep teeth and gums healthy, on seeing us, and so on and so forth. So, what are you missing, you wonder? Shouldn’t you be able to manage all of this simply by memory? Well, not necessarily. Our Columbia, TN team reminds you that juggling smile care with an already busy life can be challenging! That is, unless you rely on some very simple suggestions.

Maintain A Daily Shopping List!

We know that you may think you’ll remember to head to the drugstore after work to pick up toothpaste. However, that doesn’t mean you’ll remember. Instead, you, like many patients, may continue your daily routine as usual, head home, and realize you’re out of toothpaste! Or, you may head to the store to do your usual shopping but unless you have a list for dental care, you may forget these items, as you become more focused on groceries. Do something simple that’s very helpful for your oral health: Maintain a shopping list that includes your smile care needs.

Make Yourself Daily Care Notes

Some people brush and floss on auto-pilot. Others don’t. If you find that you’re having some trouble with this part of your preventive care because you either leave your home without performing dental hygiene or accidentally go to sleep without it, we understand. However, we also remind you that it’s very important to follow through. An easy solution is to leave yourself daily care notes, which might be as simple as a little message to yourself on your bathroom mirror!

Leave Yourself Reminders To Call Us

Days and weeks and months can go by, while you keep telling yourself you need to call our practice. Rather than wake up in three months with an excruciating toothache for what was previously just a minor bit of sensitivity, come in soon! Leave yourself an alarm or note on your phone, a sticky note, etc. Set up the visit you need, so you come in, keep your oral health safe, and feel relaxed about this area of your life!

Let Us Help You Organize Your Smile Care

Remember that when you have your approach to smile care organized, it’s much easier to remain committed to following through on every last detail, including home care and the professional treatment you need! To learn more, or to schedule an appointment, call Creekside Family Dental Care in Columbia, TN, today at (931) 388–3384.
