Dental Contouring: The Q&A You Need To Move Forward

There are some exceptional benefits that you can expect from dental contouring. If you are already interested in choosing it for your smile, then you’re aware you can easily alter the shape of your teeth, the length (making them shorter), and even the texture, thanks to gentle enamel removal. If you’re left asking some questions about contouring that are preventing you from contacting us to set a date for the procedure, then it’s certainly time to receive the answers you need!

Questions and Answers

Question: Is it going to be safe to receive dental contouring? How do I know for sure?

Answer: Yes, the procedure is a safe one. You know this for sure because before you come in to receive this treatment, we become thoroughly familiar with the teeth requiring care. We don’t simply remove enamel and hope for the best. Instead, we gain a clear knowledge of your enamel’s thickness and remove only as much as is necessary and safe.

Question: Is the procedure going to hurt at all? I assume dental contouring is quick and quite gentle but I’m a little worried it will feel bad.

Answer: There’s absolutely nothing to worry about. Generally speaking, contouring does not bother patients at all. However, should you find the sensation bothersome, all you have to do is let us know and we will take measures to numb your tissues.

Question: Will my teeth become weak after dental contouring, since you will be removing tissue? Is this something I need to consider before choosing it for myself?

Answer: No, they will not be weak. You will still enjoy strong, protective enamel and healthy teeth. As mentioned, we only remove as much tissue as is safe, while preserving the absolute integrity of your teeth.
